Terminowo is a mobile application that helps you track expiry dates of insurance documents and other important papers by scanning them with your camera. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
Your documents and their details are stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy of them on any server.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
When you scan a document, the image is sent over HTTPS through our server (a Google Cloud function in the EU) to Google Document AI for optical character recognition (OCR) to extract expiry dates. Our server only forwards the request and does not store or log the image. The image data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Google Document AI does not use your data to train models.
If the app crashes or hits an error, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), hosted in the EU, so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains technical data only: the error and stack trace, app version, device model, operating system version, and a random installation identifier. It does not contain your documents, scanned images, document names, recognized text, or your name or contact details. Reports are processed under Sentry's Privacy Policy and are not used for advertising or tracking.
The app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which reports that the app was installed and opened. We use this only to measure how well our advertising campaigns bring new users. The SDK sends technical data such as the app version, device model, operating system version and, on Android, the device advertising ID (which you can reset or delete in your device settings). On iOS the app does not ask for tracking permission, so the SDK does not receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). No documents, images, document names or recognized text are sent to Meta. This data is processed under Meta's Privacy Policy.
The app does not require a user account or sign-in. All functionality is available without authentication. Document AI requests are authenticated via a server-side API key and do not involve any user credentials.
Your data remains on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual documents within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all data. Images sent to Google Document AI for OCR are processed transiently and are not retained by Google after processing is complete.

For the purposes of Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework: this app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). The data described above (crash reports, install and app-open events) is not used for tracking as defined by Apple.
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us so we can address the concern.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
